Riverside Community College District

THE DISTRICT
The Riverside Community College District (RCCD) is a multi-campus system that serves more than 35,000 students through its three campuses, online programs, and education centers. It serves residents of Riverside County living within a 450 square mile area.
Established in 1916, the Riverside City Campus is the oldest of the three RCCD campuses and offers a broad liberal arts and science curriculum, along with special programs in nursing, business, automotive technology and other applied technology subjects. The two other campuses, Moreno Valley and Norco, opened in 1991. The Moreno Valley Campus is known for its health and public services programs, including the only community college-based Physician Assistant program in the western United States. The Norco Campus specializes in technology, engineering and manufacturing programs and is home to one of only 10 Centers for Applied Competitive Technologies in California. RCCD also operates programs at the March Air Reserve Base and the Ben Clark Public Safety Training Center, and offers Weekend College and Open Campus (online classes) for non-traditional learners.
Currently, RCCD employs nearly 350 full-time faculty, supported by approximately 500 full-time classified staff. By 2007, RCCD plans to complete its transition to a multi-college system with the accreditation of the Moreno Valley and Norco campuses as individual colleges.
