Position Summary
Transportation and Campus Services is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Alternative
Transportation Coordinator. In this position you will have the opportunity to provide assistance to the alternative transportation manager
in the areas of biking, transit and pedestrian movement on campus by managing campus bicycle programs, GIS map updates, tracking
transportation mode statistics and trends, assisting in transit, biking, and pedestrian related projects, and participating in
transportation/sustainability public relations events. Provide customer service to alternative transportation program participants and
others on campus with pedestrian, bicycle and/or transit needs.
Required Qualifications
To succeed in this position you must understand the role of different types of transportation in
a multi-modal transportation environment; have demonstrated experience using GIS software to record and analyze data and make useful maps;
experience using illustration and desktop publishing software; experience working in office environments and customer service roles;
extensive computer experience and proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, such as Excel, Word and Outlook. Must have excellent
communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to interact comfortably with all individuals in a diverse multicultural environment.
Must be able to work throughout the calendar year. Must be willing to work outside to collect data and meet with constituents.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in geography, urban planning, or related field, or equivalent level of
training and experience; previous experience using ArcGIS products (eg: Info, Editor, Catalog, Toolbox); experience performing or training
in statistical and data analysis.
