This position is no longer an active posting on HigherEdJobsThe Enterprise Systems Manager is responsible to the Chief Information Officer. The basic functions are to plan, organize, review, control, install and maintain system and application software, document all programs, systems and system software, keep up-to-date on software and hardware, and design Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) programs and systems.
The Enterprise Systems manager supervises the staff that comprise the Enterprise Systems Support Services area of the IT department; the ERP analysts, Database analyst, Assistant Database analyst, the Data Warehouse analyst and the part-time Application Developer.
Designs flowcharts, codes, compiles, tests, debugs and maintains software and systems as assigned.
Writes and maintains complete documentation on all software.
Assists the Chief Information Officer and users in defining, developing and preparing specifications for new systems.
Develops job control for implementing new applications programs and system software.
Performs maintenance and updates to existing application programs and software.
Assists the Chief Information Officer in performing feasibility studies for new systems.
Installation and updating to operating systems and other utility software.
Keeps the Chief Information Officer current on the status of projects.
Conducts in-service training as assigned.
Keeps up-to-date on "state of art" software and hardware.
Responsible for mainframe access security and controlling user access.
Monitor system performance and tuning.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Chief Information Officer.
Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science or related field required. Master's degree preferred.
Minimum of five years of progressive responsibility in the Management Information systems required, seven years preferred. ERP experience at a community college strongly preferred.
Two years of experience in a supervisory position required; four years preferred.
Proven verbal and written communication skills along with demonstrated technical skills, strong analytical ability and the ability to interface with all levels of faculty, staff and students. Proven ability to manage issues requiring immediate resolution. Ability to work collaboratively within a diverse campus community; the ability to make technology understandable to staff and faculty and the ability to promote and manage change diplomatically and foster cooperation and team spirit.
Customer service experience with students, faculty and support staff of an academic institution preferred.
