Position Summary
Kaplan University offers academic-year, non-tenured track teaching appointments to qualified individuals who are dedicated to a quality baccalaureate and masters program. Key Job Responsibilities
- Overall time commitment for this position:
- Teaching eight, pre-scheduled, real time weekly synchronous seminars in which students and instructors log onto Kaplan's platform and discuss the assigned topic for the week.
- Development and posting of the class syllabi in the class Message Board
- Maintaining two hours of virtual office hours per week for each class
- Reading internal student and administrative mail messages and responding within 24 hours
- Participating in message board discussions with students
- Keeping grade sheets current and providing qualitative feedback on student assignments
- Delivering mid-term and final grades to Kaplan's University Registrar
- Portfolio assessments
Qualifications:
Master's Degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field with 18 graduate hours in IT, Programming, Computer Science or related field. Demonstrated programming skills in JAVA or .NET languages. In addition, we would consider candidates with wireless technology (Android/iPhone/RIM or other mobile computing platform) experience.
