General Summary of Position: Reposting
The College of Management at the University of Massachusetts Lowell invites applications for a tenure-track position in the field of Accounting at the rank of Full/Associate/Assistant Professor.
The College of Management (COM) is accredited by the AACSB. COM's mission is closely tied to the research, teaching, and service mission of the University. The Accounting Department is currently building faculty capacity to deepen its research output and increase program offerings at the master's level. Interested applicants have an opportunity to join a developing department, participate actively in the recruitment of additional faculty, and create new graduate programs. The College of Management has over 2000 undergraduate and MBA students. Classes are taught in both traditional classroom settings and online. Salaries and teaching loads are competitive.
The University of Massachusetts Lowell is a New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC) accredited comprehensive university with a national reputation in science, engineering and technology, and committed to educating students for lifelong success in a diverse world and conducting research and outreach activities that sustain the economic, environmental and social health of the region. Minimum Qualifications: -An earned Ph.D. or DBA in Accounting from an AACSB-accredited institution by the position starting date (January 2011).
Preferred Qualifications:
-A demonstrated record of, or at the Assistant level a strong potential for, high-quality research.
-A demonstrated record of high-quality instruction in some combination of Financial/Managerial Accounting, AIS, Auditing, or Taxes, at both the MBA and undergraduate levels.
-Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to speak and write English clearly.
-The ability to work with a diverse student and faculty population.
Special Instructions: -NOTE: Strong consideration will be given to candidates with public accounting or corporate experience, preferably with applicable certifications (e.g., CPA, CMA, etc.)
