The University seeks a talented and well-credentialed HR professional to
assure the university's compensation and benefits programs are managed in ways consistent with the
university's strategic goals in order to maintain its competitive position, align with industry
trends, Best Practices, and regulatory requirements. Reporting to the Associate Vice President for
Human Resources and serving as a member of the HR leadership team, this position is responsible for
the management, administration, design, review, modification, and communication of the university's
compensation and benefits programs. The incumbent serves in an advisory capacity to university
administration in matters of policy interpretation, regulatory changes and technical human resources
compensation and benefits issues. In addition, he or she will provide leadership for the
Compensation and Benefits Section, which includes managing and developing staff reporting to this
position, and developing and recommending short and long-term compensation and benefits goals.

Qualifications: Qualifications: minimum Bachelor's Degree in Business
Administration, Human Resource Management, or a closely related field and minimum 10 years of
professional compensation and benefits experience, three 3 years of which at the managerial level.
Master's Degree preferred. CCP, CEBS, and/or SPHR certification required.
The successful
candidate must be able to support the university's mission, communicate effectively with faculty and
staff at all levels, and work in a fast-paced and diverse environment. He or she must also possess
the following qualities: evidence of strong leadership, management, communication, and interpersonal
skills (including written, verbal, presentational, and listening skills), experience with
self-insured plans, demonstrated experience in plan design and benchmarking, experience with the
development and design of either a compensation or an employee benefits program, current knowledge
of all relevant laws and regulations pertaining to compensation and benefits administration, and
strong analytical skills and ability to use quantitative methods to evaluate the effectiveness of
the university's compensation program and benefits services.
Salary is dependent on
qualifications and experience. Position available November 1, 2010. No relocation.
