Southeastern Oklahoma State University invites applications for the full-time position of tenure track Assistant Professor in music theory/applied music. This position includes teaching and overseeing all courses in the music theory curriculum. Courses will include music writing skills, aural dictation skills, sight-singing, and keyboarding skills at the undergraduate level. Advanced theory courses for the Bachelor of Music degree will also be a component of this position. Ability to teach applied lessons, with preference given to high brass will also be a necessary component of this position. An ability to direct a jazz ensemble is highly desirable. Candidates must have a master's degree in Music (performance and pedagogy and/or theory) and prior experience teaching at the university level. A Doctorate of Musical Arts in Music Performance with Music Theory minor or Ph.D. in Music Theory or Pedagogy is preferred.
