The South Dakota School of Mines and Technology seeks applicants for the position of Assistant Football Coach-Defensive Coordinator. The selected individual will assist the head coach in coordinating the defense; assist with mentoring and coaching the other defensive coaches; assist with recruitment of student athletes based upon input from the head coach; demonstrate a commitment to the head coach, the athletic department, and the university; develop a quality off season training segment for all defensive positions; assist with the inventory, maintenance and purchasing of equipment; assist in the responsibility for student athlete academic and leadership success; assist with development and implementation of daily practice plans and game day planning; assist with opponent evaluation, player evaluation and assist with the design of a positive player development program; assist in fundraising for the football program and athletic department in general and other duties as assigned. The successful candidate will assume a positive public posture actively representing the football program, the athletic department, and the university at public functions, alumni functions, civic functions, and fundraising events. A bachelor degree is required, master's degree highly preferred.

This is an 11-month (July 22 through June 21) benefited position. Salary is competitive for an NCAA D-II transitioning program. The start date will be as soon as possible.
