The Dean serves as a primary advocate for student success and leads efforts to respond to student issues; manages the University's response to student critical incidents; administers the Student Conduct Code; supervises the planning and implementation of first-year, orientation, and Division-based retention programs; oversees the Office of Student Disability Services; coordinates divisional efforts in the areas of student outreach, parent relations, sexual misconduct, and legal and regulatory compliance; serves as liaison to campus and community organizations relative to student issues; and serves as a member of the Student Affairs senior leadership team.
Master's degree in college student personnel, higher education administration, or related field plus at least seven years of progressive leadership experience in student affairs required. Demonstrated ability to build and maintain collaborative relationships with diverse populations, lead teams and manage programs, and effectively communicate with others also required. Experience managing student discipline, participating in threat assessment and student critical incident response efforts, and with Title IX protocol preferred. Supervisory experience, resource management, and problem-solving skills also preferred. On-call, evening, weekend, and holiday work necessary. Criminal and other relevant background checks required.
