This position is no longer an active posting on HigherEdJobsThe Department of Applied Health Sciences is seeking to fill a ten-month tenure track position of Assistant Professor in the Food and Nutrition area beginning August 2012. Indiana State University's Department of Applied Health Sciences offers an undergraduate and graduate Coordinated Program in Dietetics, an undergraduate program in Food Service Management, and a graduate program in Food and Nutrition.
Qualifications: Interested candidates must possess a doctorate in Nutrition or closely related discipline with teaching experience acceptable for appointment. Registered Dietitian (RD) strongly preferred; college teaching, practitioner experience, and research/scholarly activity preferred. ABD candidates will be considered if the degree is to be granted by August 2012. The candidate will be expected to have or be able to develop programmatic research as well as externally funded research. The candidate must be able to work collaboratively with a diverse faculty and student body.
Duties: Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in multiple areas of nutrition and food; from basic to advanced nutrition, medical nutrition therapy, and basic foods and food science/chemistry classes and labs. Responsibilities will also include advising undergraduate and graduate students; participation in program development, student recruitment; and supervision of supervised practice students. Faculty are also expected to engage in professional and scholarly activities; engagement in professional, departmental, college, and university activities; and involvement in school, university, community, and student organization service.
