The Department of Preventive Medicine and Biometrics invites qualified applicants to apply for a Research Associate position.
The Department of Preventive Medicine and Biometrics, one of the nation's largest, is comprised of six divisions, two medical residency programs, more than 65 full-time faculty members, and over 200 additional adjunct faculty members engaged in a wide variety of research projects relevant to public health. PMB has recently established a Master's degree program in Healthcare Administration and Policy and is seeking an experienced healthcare administrator.
Duties: The incumbent will be responsible for the administration of existing and future health economics/health services, and health policy research projects. Additionally, the incumbent will be responsible for data collection and acquisition, data analysis, literature review, preparation of manuscripts, and submission of grant proposals. The Research Associate will serve in the Department of Preventive Medicine and Biometrics and as such as will assist in conducting research projects as a member of a multidisciplinary research team. He/She will work under the direction of the Principal Investigator and other core faculty in the Department of PMB.
Qualification Requirements: The incumbent must bring to this position a minimum of a Master's degree in Economics, Health Economics or related field. This level of expertise and knowledge may also be evidenced by possession of a Bachelor's degree in the area of science required by the position, combined with a minimum of two years of specialized experience in the scientific specialization required by the position. The incumbent must have experience working with large databases and statistical packages such as SAS and STATA. The candidate must possess excellent writing and analytical skills. Familiarity with the ethical and regulatory requirements for Human and/or clinical research, and familiarity with the concepts of data quality assurance are preferred.
