AIC is presently seeking an adjunct professor for the School of Business, Arts, & Sciences within our Communications Department. The professor will be required to teach a course within the following discipline for spring 2014. This includes teaching Play Production which includes set design and construction, set painting, crew organization, prop making and will also personally design the set for one production each semester. The professor will also be responsible for preparation of class materials and grading for the course. Additional responsibilities include attendance during the full tech week of each production, communicating needs to the director of the program and to assist in recruitment for the program. This position is an adjunct position under the supervision of the theater director.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Teach three-credit course(s) and two-credit (3 hour) laboratory in area of expertise for one semester
- Create scenic design for productions
- Assist with departmental projects
The selected candidate(s) will have a Master's degree in Theater or relate area; teaching experience on the college level is preferred; hours are flexible to the needs of the College. Screening of applications will begin immediately and will continue until position is filled.
Adjunct Professor for Theater is a part time, exempt position. This is a non-benefit eligible position. Position will commence January 2014 through May 2014.
