RESPONSIBILITIES
The UNLV Office of Distance Education invites applicants for Instructional Technologist, 3D Art Designer. This is a 12 month, full time position beginning immediately. The duties for this position include:

This position uses Maya or other appropriate 3D and graphic software to create 3D static and dynamic images and graphics. This position will design appropriate level conceptual graphics or animations for use on the internet within DE courses using Flash in collaboration with Actionscript developers.

Managing multiple projects on tight deadlines as well as the ability to work individually and in a team environment. Communicating clearly and effectively collaborating with faculty and the DE team is required to meet course-learning objectives. They will also assist DE faculty and DE instructional designers with Webcampus or other LMS as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS
A Bachelors - BS/BA/BFA or equivalent degree from an accredited college or university is required, preferably in Digital Arts, Web production, Graphic Design, Computer Science. The successful candidate will have at least 3 years of related professional experience.

Professional understanding of educational technology and how to use it effectively. Experience in developing web based 3D graphics, documents or animations is critical.

Web design skills with Mac and PC platforms should include expert experience working with HTML, DHTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Adobe Creative Suite 4 specifically Photoshop and Illustrator, as well as a strong understanding of screen-layout constraints, artistic skills, preparing sophisticated graphics, Web palettes and fonts, ADA accessibility, and cross platform/browser issues. Proficient in using HTML editing software such as Dreamweaver, and or the ability to create full sites or trouble-shoot code as needed. Knowledge of a LMS, Blackboard or Vista 4 preferred.

SALARY RANGE
Salary highly competitive; contingent on labor market. Position is contingent upon funding.
