The Department of Teacher Education invites applications for the position of Assistant Professor or Associate Professor in the Bilingual/ESL Program. The successful candidate will teach graduate and undergraduate courses, advise undergraduate and graduate students, and assist in sponsoring the Bilingual Educational Student Organization (BESO).

Responsibilities: Responsibilities include (a) teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in bilingual education and ESL, (b) supervising students in field settings; (c) conducting research and engaging in scholarly activities; (d) advising undergraduate and graduate degree-seeking and certification students; (e) participating in curriculum and program development, (f) actively serving on program, department, college, and university committees.

Required Qualifications for Assistant Professor:
(a) earned doctorate in education, curriculum and instruction, or related area with specialization in Bilingual or ESL education, (b) a minimum of three years of teaching experience in a bilingual or ESL classroom in a U.S. public school, (c) evidence of potential for scholarship and research, (d) evidence of potential for successful higher education teaching experience at the undergraduate and graduate levels, (e) English and Spanish language proficiency and literacy, (f) potential for success in the mentorship of graduate and undergraduate teacher candidates, (g) potential for successful collaboration with program, department, college, university, and community colleagues, and (h) willingness to teach in the Denton, Dallas, and Ft. Worth Metroplex area.

Required Qualifications for Associate Professor:
(a) earned doctorate in education, curriculum and instruction, or related area with specialization in Bilingual or ESL education, (b) a minimum of three years of teaching experience in a bilingual or ESL classroom in a U.S. public school, (c) established record of scholarship and research, (d) evidence of successful higher education teaching experience at the undergraduate and graduate levels (in Bilingual/ESL courses supporting teacher education in multicultural and/or second language teaching and learning settings including the use of distance learning technologies), (e) English and Spanish language proficiency and literacy, (f) demonstrated success in the mentorship of graduate and undergraduate teacher candidates, (g) evidence of successful collaboration with program, department, college, university, and community colleges, and (h) willingness to teach in the Denton, Dallas, and Ft. Worth Metroplex area.
