Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor

The Department of Teacher Education will be seeking a highly qualified candidate for a tenure-track position in Educational Administration, contingent on approval. Appointment in rank will be based on qualifications, experience, and record of scholarship.

The Department of Teacher Education is committed to the development of exemplary leaders and educators skilled in the promotion of learning in a culturally diverse, democratic society. Successful graduates from our program hold positions as superintendents, deputy superintendents, associate superintendents, assistant superintendents, program directors, curriculum specialists, special education directors, principals, assistant principals, and teacher leaders.

Responsibilities:
(a) Teach graduate courses in educational administration and leadership, foundations of education, and/or education research; (b) Supervise administrative interns in field settings; (c) Conduct and supervise research and field-based developmental activities in educational leadership; (d) Conduct outreach and service activities; (e) Advise graduate degree-seeking and administrative certification students; (f) Participate in curriculum and program development (g) Actively serve on program, department, college, and university committees.

Required Qualifications for Assistant Professor:
(a) Ph.D. or Ed.D. in Educational Administration or commensurate degree; (b) Potential for excellence in graduate instruction; (c) Strong potential for research and scholarship appropriate to the rank; (d) Teaching or leading experience in education or education-related field; and (e) Willingness to engage in school-university partnerships.

Required Qualifications for Associate Professor:
(a) Ph.D. or Ed.D. in Educational Administration or commensurate degree; (b) Successful experience in graduate instruction (c) An established scholarly agenda appropriate to the rank; (d) Teaching or leading experience in education or education-related; and (e) Willingness to engage in school-university partnerships.

Required Qualifications for Professor: (a) Ph.D. or Ed.D. in Educational Administration or commensurate degree, (b) Demonstrated successful experience in graduate instruction; (c) An established record of scholarship appropriate to the rank; (d) Teaching or leading experience in education or education-related; (e) Willingness to engage in school-university partnerships; and, (f) experience obtaining external funding.

Required Qualifications:
(a) At least 3 years as a classroom teacher; (b) At least 3 years as a campus administrator, and a position held as an assistant principal or principal is preferred.

Preferred Qualifications:
(a) Evidence of student-oriented instruction and leading within a collaborative environment; (b) Demonstrated outreach and service activities appropriate to the rank; (c) Interest in or experience with collaborative grant development; and (d) Interest in or expertise with on-line/ distance learning and other alternative delivery systems.
