A full-time, tenure-track faculty position at the level of associate professor is available in The Texas Woman's University School of Physical Therapy at the Institute of Health Sciences - Houston. The preferred area of clinical expertise is in exercise physiology, but content expertise in other areas, particularly in orthopedics and therapeutic exercise, is welcome.

The successful candidate is expected to teach in professional and post-professional programs, develop a scholarly agenda, participate in service activities (school, university, and professional), and maintain currency in clinical practice or research. At least 3 years of clinical practice in musculoskeletal/sports physical therapy is required.

Preference will be given to applicants with ABPTS Specialty certification in orthopedics (OCS) or sports (SCS) physical therapy and/or teaching experience in exercise testing and prescription and biomechanics. Licensure or eligibility for licensure in Texas and an earned academic doctoral degree (PhD or DSc preferred) in physical therapy or a related discipline is required.

The successful candidate is expected to demonstrate an active research agenda in the broad spectrum of exercise research. Prior academic or clinical teaching experience and mentorship of PhD students are valued assets. Application review will begin in November 2012 and will continue until the position is filled.
