Faculty Position in Kinesiology

DESCRIPTION: The Department of Kinesiology (http://www.twu.edu/kinesiology/ ) seeks to fill a full-time tenure track position as an assistant professor with expertise in Exercise Science that begins August, 2014.
QUALIFICATIONS: PhD or equivalent in Kinesiology or related area. Further, a commitment to teaching excellence in exercise science and interest in teaching undergraduate course(s) in exercise and special populations. A record of active membership and involvement in professional organizations, along with appropriate professional certifications and/or credentials such as ACSM are preferred.
RESPONSIBILITIES: 1) Teach undergraduate courses in the exercise science area that may include exercise physiology, scientific foundations of movement, or exercise and special populations; 2) teach graduate courses in an area of specialization; 3) maintain an active scholarship program; 4) submit internal or external proposals for funding; 5) advise students, serve on department/university committees, and contribute to the diversity of the faculty; and 6) work on collaborative research and teaching projects.
SALARY: Commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Other considerations: The Department of Kinesiology provides funds for travel to professional meetings and start-up funds are negotiable.
