The Department of Business-Economics at the University of Wisconsin Colleges invites applications for a full-time tenure-track Assistant Professor of Business at its UW-Fox Valley campus to start in the fall of 2013.
As teacher-scholars, we seek candidates with a strong commitment to undergraduate education and a willingness to engage students within and beyond the walls of the traditional classroom. Preferences will be given to candidates with graduate levels courses in Management Information Systems and/or Business Communications and those who show evidence of successful college level teaching in Business Communications and/or Management Information Systems.
Teaching responsibilities will be to teach 24 credit hours per year from among the following:
- Introduction to Business
- Personal Finance
- Introductory Accounting
- Intermediate Accounting
- Managerial Accounting
- Business Communication
- Management Information Systems
- Introduction to E-Commerce
- Develop interdisciplinary courses to be taught in the second and subsequent years of appointment, at least once per year
- Possibly one or more of the course should be adapted as an online, accelerated or hybrid course
- Possibly participate in first year experience courses and/or learning communities.
- Participate in campus and departmental assessment of student learning.
- Continued commitment to scholarly activity in the discipline and/or the scholarship of teaching and learning
- Participate in campus, institutional and community service, and the shared governance structure.
- Advise new and continuing students
A Masters degree in Business or closely related field with a CPA and/or CMA or equivalent advanced degree is required.
UW-Fox Valley, located in Menasha, is the second largest of the thirteen campuses with 1,830 students. Menasha is part of the "Fox Cities," a thriving economic and cultural center of increasing ethnic diversity. The Fox Cities are approximately ninety minutes north of Milwaukee and two hours from Madison. Nearby are Appleton, Green Bay, Oshkosh and Fond du Lac.
