Associate Director

Texas Woman's University (TWU) invites applications and nominations for Associate Director of the School of Physical Therapy, to be housed at the Dallas Center. TWU is a publicly funded co-educational institution that is designated as a Doctoral/research-intensive University, by the Carnegie Foundation. The main TWU campus is in Denton, with two health science campuses, one in Dallas and one in Houston.

The School of Physical Therapy: The School is a nationally ranked, accredited program. TWU has been awarding degrees in physical therapy for forty years. Currently, TWU School of Physical Therapy is offering the entry level DPT and Transitional DPT. In addition, the school offers a PhD in Physical Therapy, one of only 5 in the country. The School is seeking an Associate Program Director who will foster a climate of intellectual vitality and excellence, and support the existing strong faculty in the Dallas Centers, in their teaching, scholarship, and service activities. The Associate Director of the School will work closely with both the Associate Director in Houston and the Program Director in Dallas, and with the Dean of the College of Health Sciences, in Denton.

Desired Qualifications:

  • An earned doctorate; PhD, EdD, DSc, ScD
  • Graduation from an accredited physical therapist program
  • Eligible for physical therapist licensure in the State of Texas
  • A distinguished record of scholarship, teaching, and service at the local, state or national level
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Financial management skills
Setting: The School of Physical Therapy is located in a new state-of-the art, multi-story facility in Dallas. The Dallas Center is located in the heart of the Southwestern Medical District. Close ties to academic and medical facilities in the greater Dallas area contribute to (1) a rich and diverse environment for research and scholarship collaboration, (2) excellence in clinical practice and, (3) exciting teaching opportunities.
