Last month, HigherEdJobs.com was visited 1,414,271 times (verified by WebTrends®). HigherEdJobs.com reaches one of the largest audiences of college faculty, administrators, and executives. And, since we focus on recruitment, not news, your postings are targeted to the people you're trying to reach - candidates! With news publications, a good portion of their traffic just reads the news and never sees a job posting. At HigherEdJobs.com, 100% of our content is recruitment related.
We employ a variety of strategies to drive traffic to HigherEdJobs.com. We use a number of services to make sure HigherEdJobs.com remains one of the top listings on popular search engines such as Google, Yahoo!, and many others. We also advertise in a number of publications targeted to the higher education community. Within the web site, we employ a number of tools such as "Email a Friend" and "Job Agents" to attract new visitors and keep previous visitors coming back. We send over 300,000 Job Agent emails a month to candidates letting them know about new job postings that match their search criteria.
Currently, 1,611 colleges and universities have positions listed on HigherEdJobs.com. These institutions include large state schools, community and technical colleges, elite private institutions, K-12 organizations, associations, government agencies, and businesses associated with higher education. Feel free to contact us to inquire whether or not your institution currently has a posting account. You can also contact your central Human Resources Office, Provost’s Office, or whatever office is responsible for advertising positions in your department.
If your institution has a posting account, access your account to post your position. If you do not have an account, use our Single Posting Form. All you need to do is enter the job title, choose a category and expiration date, and cut and paste the job description from your word processor. Not sure which category to choose? Positions posted through our Unlimited Posting Subscription will appear on the site instantaneously! Jobs posted through our Single Posting form will appear on the site within 1-2 business hours. Our regular business hours are Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm EST.
Yes. Non-subscribed customers receive an email when their positions are removed, indicating how many times their job was viewed. Registered and Subscribed customers can view this activity from their account at anytime. And, they receive a regular email listing all their open positions, the number of times each job was viewed, and recently expired positions.
If you don't have an account, you can email your position changes to sales@higheredjobs.com. If you do have an account, you can edit your positions at any time through your account.
When you post your job, you will be asked to enter a Removal Date. Your posting will be automatically removed from the site on that day. If you would like to change the date your posting is scheduled to be removed, you can contact us at sales@higheredjobs.com. If you have an account, you can edit the removal date or delete your posting through your account.
If you have an account, you can repost your job through your account. If you don't have an account, reply to the email you will receive from us when we remove your posting.
Yes. When posting a confidential or blind ad, be sure to use "Confidential" for the institution's name. To ensure confidentiality, do not list the institution's name in the job description, application instructions, or affirmative action statement. If you accept applications via email, consider using an email account that doesn't reveal the name of the employer. A Job Pack is a group of job credits that you buy, at a discounted rate per job, prior to posting your jobs. We then create an account for you (if you don't already have one) and you can post your jobs through your account, using the credits in your inventory. You can post all your jobs immediately or save that inventory for use anytime within 12 months.
The cost of a job pack depends on how many jobs you purchase, and you receive larger discounts when you buy larger packs. Plans start as low as $390 for 3 jobs. You can purchase a Job Pack directly through your account, or you can access the Job Pack Order Form to place your order.
You can post your jobs immediately, or anytime within 12 months.
If you purchase your Job Pack through an account, you can begin posting jobs immediately. If you do not yet have an account, we will create one for you within 1-2 business hours (M-F 8am-5pm EST). Once you receive the confirmation email with your username and temporary password, you can log into your account and begin posting immediately.
Yes. A Job Pack is an ideal solution for posting positions at multiple campuses/locations.
Just like Single Postings, jobs posted using your Job Pack inventory can be listed for up to 60 days.
You can purchase packs of Affirmative Action Emails or Priority Jobs on the Job Pack Order Form. You can also purchase Affirmative Action Email or Priority Job Packs through the HEJ Store in your account.
With an Unlimited Posting Subscription you can post an unlimited number of jobs for one year. After you complete our subscription order form, you should receive your welcome email, listing your username and password, within 1-2 business hours. Once you receive that email, you can access your account and start posting your jobs immediately.
Institutional Subscriptions are designed for central Human Resources Offices, Affirmative Action Offices, Provosts' Offices, any office that advertises positions across a single campus. Unit Subscriptions are designed for academic and administrative units within an institution. For example, a College of Business within a larger institution would be eligible to purchase a Unit Subscription, as would a Development Office or any other administrative office.

Just complete our online subscription form (Institutions or Academic and Administrative Units). Once you submit the form, your account should be created within 1-2 business hours. You have several options. First, you can post Single Positions for the academic and administrative units and have them pay for the ads they place. Also, you might consider contacting those units which typically advertise several positions and ask if they would collectively share the cost of an Institutional Subscription. For example, if three units agree to share the costs, they each pay only $665.00. Several of our subscribed institutions have done this.
Priority Jobs are listed before regular postings and have our priority logo next to them. Employers pay an extra fee ($85) to designate a posting as a Priority Job. The Priority status lasts for 30 days. Click here to see an example. The Priority Job must be used in conjunction with a job posting.
The Affirmative Action Email is an email we send each week to our proprietary list of 104,495 job candidates. These candidates have asked to receive job postings from colleges and universities that are actively recruiting candidates in accordance with affirmative action or diversity plans. Employers pay an extra fee ($75) to include a job posting in our Affirmative Action Email. This product was designed to offer customers the ability to take a positive step to recruit a diverse applicant pool in accordance with their affirmative action or diversity policies.
Job seekers can save their resume or vita to HigherEdJobs.com when they create a free account with HigherEdJobs. When they do so, they can choose to include their resume in our Resume Database. Currently, our Resume Database includes 84,815 public resumes and vitae. Employers can search resumes by area of specialization, location, and experience. Employers that subscribe for one of our unlimited posting plans receive free access to the Resume Database. Employers that do not subscribe can purchase access starting at $295 for 90 days.
Institutional Profiles include descriptive text about the employer as well as links to up to four web sites that give additional information about the employer. For candidates, this is a great way to learn more about the employer before they apply. For employers, this is a great tool to showcase the advantages of working at your institution. Employers that subscribe for one of our unlimited posting plans receive an Institutional Profile free of charge. Employers that do not subscribe can purchase an Institutional Profile starting at $175 for 90 days.
Regular single postings can be listed for up to 60 days. For an additional $55, you can extend your posting for an additional 30 days.
Yes. You can list the position in up to 3 categories. The first category choice is free when you post your position. Additional categories are $45 per additional category. Additional categories are free for employers subscribed to our Unlimited Posting Subscriptions.
As the Featured Employer, your school will be highlighted in our Job Agent email. Include 100 words of text and a link to your web site. We send over 300,000 Job Agent emails a month to candidates letting them know about new postings that match their search criteria. As the Featured Employer, your institution will be highlighted in 50,000 of these Job Agent emails for only $595!
Brand your school so it stands out from other employers! Have your Banner Ad appear on virtually all job seeker pages of the web site or target it to a specific section (faculty, administrative, community college, etc).
As the "Featured Affirmative Action Employer," your institution will be highlighted in the Affirmative Action Email. We provide space for up to 100 words and one hyperlink to the website of your choice. Use this space to include your school's affirmative action statement or describe its commitment to diversity. The cost to become the Featured Affirmative Action Employer is $695 per week for subscribed schools.
With the Easy Post option, we post your jobs for you! We'll go to your employment web page once a week and copy any new jobs onto our site. If you prefer, you can email us the jobs you want us to post.
When posting a Single Position, you can select to have a free account created for you. You also get an account created automatically if you purchase an Unlimited Posting Subscription or Job Pack, and don't already have one. With an account, you can purchase and post your positions, track your position results, edit your postings, and purchase other recruitment solutions.
No, you do not need an account to post a Single Position. If you opt to have a free account created for you, you will receive access to several features including real-time statistics on your postings and the ability to edit and delete your postings. But, you are not required to have an account to post a Single Position.

You have the option to be invoiced via email, U.S. mail, or pay with credit card.
No, we do not require purchase or insertion orders. However, if you would like to include a purchase order or insertion order number, you can list it on our order form and we will include it on your invoice.
