Woosong Educational Foundation is seeking qualified candidates to fill several positions as EFL teachers beginning at different times between the 14th December, 2009 and March 1st, 2010.
Woosong Foundation includes Woosong University, Woosong Information College and Woosong Language Institute.
REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Native English speaker from Australia, Canada, Ireland, N.Z, South Africa, U.K, or the USA
- Master degree in a related field preferred
- Bachelor degree with at least two year's experience and TESOL certification will be considered
JOB DESCRIPTION
General English Language Teachers (GEL)
- Teach a variety of credit and noncredit English language classes
- Maximum teaching 20 hours per week plus 4 office hours (N.B. Actual teaching hours often average around 15 per week)
STARTING SALARY
- BA + significant experience W2,100,000 - W2,400,000
- MA + 1 year experience W2,300,000 - W2,600,000 with 8+ years experience
BENEFITS
- Relocation allowance of W40,000 per day for up to seven days (payable with
first pay check)
- Air fare allowance (an additional W300,000 with your first pay check and W500,000 upon contract completion) for first year teachers
- One month's additional salary is paid as a bonus upon the completion of a second year's contract and every year contract thereafter
- Housing: Rent-free partially furnished apartment close to the campus (single or family accommodation is available).
- Vacation - 5 weeks (N.B. 6 weeks vacation for a second and subsequent contracts)
- Medical / Dental: National Health Insurance plan approximately W45,000 per month
- Private Pension Fund approximately W100,000 - 125,000 per month
- Two-year local and U.S. tax exemption for American citizens
- Free Korean language classes
CONTRACT PERIOD
- One year contract starting between the 14th December, 2009 and March 1st, 2010, depending on the availability of the teacher. (Renewable with satisfactory performance)
- Orientation meetings February 25th and 26th 2010
- Teacher arrival no later than February 22nd 2009

In country candidates may be asked to demonstrate a sample lesson in front of a hiring committee on a Saturday to be announced later.
