RESPONSIBILITIES
The University of Nevada, Las Vegas Libraries invites applications for the position of Libraries Instructional Designer.

Reporting to the Head of Instruction, the Libraries Instructional Designer will lead the design of pedagogically rich tools and experiences to enhance lessons in critical thinking and information literacy delivered to UNLV students by subject liaison librarians in face -to-face and online environments. In close collaboration with the liaison librarians, the incumbent will create effective lesson plans, assignments, and assessment strategies, design online materials and learning objects, and analyze and suggest improvements for integrating information literacy outcomes into courses in a variety of disciplines.

The Libraries Instructional Designer will also develop workshops for library faculty to improve the effectiveness of one-time library instruction workshops tailored for specific courses, and workshops for library and academic faculty that foster the integration of information literacy into departmental curricula. Workshops topics may include pedagogy, assignment design, student-centered instruction, learning styles and student learning assessment.

QUALIFICATIONS
Required: A master's degree in Instructional Design, Curriculum Development, Library & Information Science with instructional design experience, or related field from an accredited college or university. Command of instructional design theory and practice. Demonstrated experience with design and delivery of professional development workshops. Demonstrated experience with project management. Demonstrated success in a collaborative environment. Evidence of energy, creativity, initiative and commitment to professional growth. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Knowledge of course management systems used in higher education instruction.

Preferred: Instructional design experience in higher education, library, or secondary education setting. Familiarity with information literacy theory and practice. Familiarity with a wide range of applications and technologies to support e-learning.

SALARY RANGE
This is a full-time, 12-month, non-tenure-track Professional Faculty position at Range 2. Salaries are competitive and dependent upon labor market. Position is contingent upon funding.
