Job Description: East Carolina University (ECU) seeks a biological anthropologist for a full-time, tenure-track position at
the rank of Assistant Professor starting August 12, 2013. Specialization is open, but preference is for individuals focusing on human
biological variation, evolutionary anthropology, or population/behavioral biology. The candidate's research should complement the biological
and medical anthropologists in the department. A Ph.D. is required. The successful candidate will teach general anthropology, introduction
to biological anthropology (both lecture and laboratory), and upper-level undergraduate and graduate courses in their area of specialty.
Applicants should demonstrate the potential for research and publication, and have had experience securing extramural funding. Appropriate
service to the university, community, and profession is expected. The department has 16 anthropologists and offers the BA and MA
degrees.Minimum Qualifications: PhD from an appropriately accredited institution required.
