The Department of Computer Engineering and Computer Science (CECS) at the University of Louisville is actively seeking applications for a tenure-track position at the assistant professor level, to begin August 15, 2013. We are searching for a highly motivated computer scientist/engineer with a strong research record in "Cyber Enabled Discovery" with a focus on Big Data, Cloud Computing, and/or Visualization to complement established research programs. Candidates will have both research and teaching responsibilities within the CECS Department and will be expected to participate in collaborative and interdisciplinary activities.
The CECS department has over 40 years of history in offering Computer Engineering and Computer Science education. The department is unique in offering programs combining Computer Engineering and Computer Science at undergraduate and graduate level. The CECS department offers Bachelor of Science and Master of Engineering programs that are accredited by the ABET. The CECS department offers Master of Science and Ph.D. degree in Computer Science and Engineering. The Computer Engineering and Computer Science Department has faculty and students with international recognition and diverse credentials. The position requires a Ph.D. in computer science, computer engineering, or equivalent. The individual filling this position should have strong English language skills. In addition, they should possess strong foundations in computer science and engineering and a willingness to teach core computer science courses. Applicants should have a demonstrated record of excellence in research and teaching, including experience with extramural funding agencies.
