Mt. San Antonio College Director, Asian
American Native American Pacific Islander Serving Institutions (AANAPISI) Grant
This is a categorically funded position. Annual renewal of this position is contingent
upon the College's receipt of continued funding.
Under the direction of the
Vice President, Student Services, manage, direct, plan and organize all aspects of the College's
Asian American Native American Pacific Islander Serving Institutions (AANPAI) grant.
Responsibilities include administrative oversight for programs and efforts related to the
recruitment of Asian American and Native American Pacific Islander (AANAPI) students, planning and
executing program activities, maintaining detailed project records, compiling data and submitting
required reports, overseeing budget and expenditures related to the grant and managing staff
directly assigned to the project.
MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
organize, control and direct designated operations, activities, programs and services of the
AANAPISI grant; assist in establishing and maintaining program time lines and priorities; assure
compliance with established grant regulations, including federal EDGAR standards;
implement and evaluate the goals, objectives and activities of the grant; coordinate with the office
of Research and Institutional Effectiveness;
- Direct activities to provide support and assistance
to students participating in the grant; supervise the provision of counseling, advising, peer
advising and tutoring of project participants;
- Maintain current knowledge of educational trends,
innovations and practices, especially related to the developmental aspects of basic skills and
second language acquisition for under-represented and under-served AANAPI student populations;
- Collaborate with college faculty to develop curricular enhancements designed to meet the
linguistic and academic advancement of students, especially AANAPI students;
- Serve as a liaison
and coordinate communication and information between individuals in various grant program
components, college departments, and other campus leaders regarding the AANAPISI grant;
in the development of instructional and support programs and activities specific to the needs of
AANAPI student populations;
- Supervise and evaluate the performance of assigned personnel;
interview and select employees and recommend transfers, reassignments, termination and disciplinary
- actions; coordinate subordinate work assignments and review work to assure compliance with
established standards, requirements and procedures; assure employee understanding of established
- Monitor project budgets to assure expenditures comply with established budgetary
procedures; analyze and review budgetary and financial data; control and authorize expenditures in
accordance with local and grantor regulations;
- Prepare and deliver written reports and oral
presentations regarding the grant;
- Prepare and submit annual reports to the United State
government and the College as required;
- Provide information to the Vice President of Student
Services, the Vice President of Instruction, and the Dean of Counseling regarding grant activities,
needs, budget, goals and accomplishments;
- Attend appropriate local, state and federal meetings,
workshops and conferences to maintain currency of information regarding the grant and future funding
- Attend, conduct and participate in a variety of meetings and committees as assigned;
serve as a member of the Student Services Team;
- Perform related duties as assigned.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree in social or behavioral sciences or a related field; master's degree in
higher education or counseling preferred and two years of experience in program coordination
Preferred Qualifications: Documented experience in managing a student equity program or a
program that provides support services to AANAPI, low-income, first-generation college, and/or other

*SALARY & BENEFITS
Salary Range: M-9 ($83,979 - $93,342)
contributes $5,993 to medical, dental, vision and life insurance coverage. The District participates
in the Public Employees' Retirement System (PERS) and State Teachers' Retirement System (STRS).
