Senior Web Application Programmer Analyst
The Office of
Information Technology (OIT) at Western New England University seeks an energetic, experienced, and
self-motivated individual to fill the position of Senior Web Application Programmer Analyst. This
position will maintain and support various web based applications. This position will also have
primary responsibility for developing applications in support of ongoing business requirements. It
requires a high sense of initiative, follow-through, troubleshooting experience, and the ability to
work with technical and business areas in a dynamic team environment. Applicant must be able to
effectively evaluate, diagnose, and resolve ongoing, as well as unexpected technical issues; and
must be able to communicate well with University constituencies to resolve issues. The majority of
applications to be initially supported by this position are written in a combination of ColdFusion,
MySQL, HTML, JavaScript, and CSS.
Minimum applicant requirements: Bachelor's degree in
Computer Science, Engineering, or similar technical discipline; 5-7 years of progressively
responsible experience administering databases and supporting application systems using SQL and
other standards based languages; ability to assess and resolve complex code related issues with
proven analytical methodologies; and strong business acumen. Demonstrated skill using ColdFusion, or
experience in another similar language and a willingness to learn ColdFusion. Project leadership
experience highly desirable.
