Description

This position assists students with low reading and writing abilities. Responsibilities include: Providing one-on-one assessment and small group instruction of reading, writing and learning strategies. Assess reading, vocabulary, and comprehension levels; create and implement focused plans to improve reading, vocabulary and comprehension levels. Meeting with students on a regular basis to assess their learning plans. Maintaining an online database within GradesFirst. Collaborating with various campus departments.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree required; Master's preferred. Minimum of 3 years full time experience working with college-age students or high school students with an emphasis in the following areas:
1. Academic skills development in reading and writing in a teaching environment, Writing Center or Learning Center.
2. Programs for students struggling to meet academic standards.
3. Experience with a student-centered approach.
