The School of Pharmacy at Western New England College invites applications for a full-time, tenure
or non-tenure track faculty position in the Department of Pharmacy Practice in the area of Pharmacy
Informatics / Drug Information at the Assistant / Associate / Professor level. The hiring rank will
be commensurate with the qualifications of the applicant. This 12-month position offers an exciting
opportunity to be an inaugural member of an integrated and innovative learner-centered academic
program. The School of Pharmacy, which will be housed in a new facility, will enroll a founding
class of approximately 70 professional students in the fall of 2011 pending appropriate approvals.
The candidate should possess excellent interpersonal communication skills, a desire to create a
culture of academic success, and an entrepreneurial spirit. The department will consist of
approximately 16 faculty from the various disciplines.
Qualified individuals should have a Pharm.D. degree, completed a PGY1 or PGY2 residency program or equivalent clinical experience (with residency in informatics preferred), and eligibility for licensure in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts or in the state of the practice site. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing a pharmacy informatics practice site; design and implement a clerkship rotation for experiential students; teaching in area of informatics and other areas of expertise; conduct research and scholarly activity; and service to the College and community and practice site. Prior experience as a faculty member at a school or college of pharmacy is desirable as is demonstrated strength in teaching at the higher education level.
