The School of Pharmacy at Western New England College invites applications for two positions of
Assistant/Associate/Professor of Pharmacology in the Department of Pharmaceutical and Administrative
Sciences. Areas of expertise/interest may also include immunology, genomics/pharmacogenomics,
toxicology, or pathophysiology. Both positions are 12 month tenure-track appointments that offer an
exciting opportunity to participate in building an integrated and innovative learner-centered
academic program. The School of Pharmacy, which will be housed in a new academic building, will
enroll a founding class of approximately 70 professional students in the fall of 2011 pending
appropriate approvals. The department will consist of approximately 12-faculty from the various
disciplines.
Candidates should possess excellent interpersonal and group communication skills, record of scholarly work, desire to create a culture of academic success, and an entrepreneurial spirit. The successful candidate will have a doctorate in pharmacology or related discipline identified above. A B.S. in pharmacy or a Pharm.D. degree would be an asset but is not required for these positions. Prior experience as a faculty member in higher education is desirable but not required. Post-doctoral experience in the relevant discipline for candidates for the Assistant Professor level is preferred. The successful candidate will teach in the professional Pharm.D. program and will be expected to pursue research and scholarly activity along with appropriate service to the School of Pharmacy, the College and the community.
