The School of Pharmacy at Western New England College invites applications for the position of Assistant/Associate/Professor of Medicinal Chemistry in the Department of Pharmaceutical and Administrative Sciences. This is a 12 month tenure-track appointment that offers an exciting opportunity to participate in building an integrated and innovative learner-centered academic program. The School of Pharmacy, which will be housed in a new academic building, will enroll a founding class of approximately 70 professional students in the fall of 2011 pending appropriate approvals. The department will consist of approximately 12-faculty from the various disciplines.

Candidates should possess excellent interpersonal and group communication skills, record of scholarly work, desire to create a culture of academic success, and an entrepreneurial spirit. The successful candidate will have a doctorate in Medicinal Chemistry or Organic Chemistry (with relevant medicinal chemistry experience). A B.S. in pharmacy or a Pharm.D. degree would be an asset but is not required. Prior experience as a faculty member in higher education is desirable. Post-doctoral experience in the relevant discipline for candidates for the Assistant Professor level is preferred. The successful candidate will teach in the professional Pharm.D. program and will be expected to pursue research and scholarly activity along with appropriate service to the School of Pharmacy, College and community.

Western New England College is a private, independent, coeducational institution founded in 1919. Located on an attractive 215-acre suburban campus in Springfield, Massachusetts, the College serves 3,700 students, including 2,500 full-time undergraduate students. Undergraduate, graduate, and professional programs are offered through the College's Schools of Arts and Sciences, Business, Engineering, and Law.
