Coordinates and implements parent activities in the immigrant/refugee communities where ESL Afterschool Communities (ELSAsC) operate under grant funding for the Center for Workforce Development. Provides interpretation, translations and cultural awareness.

1. Contact an adult member of each student's family at least once a month. Communicate and resolve issues in a timely, efficient manner.
2. Arrange, develop and implement a quarterly family event in the community.
3. Provide interpretation and translations for family/students as needed. Assist in the recruitment of students.
4. Develop positive and professional relationships with school staff, parents and community. Attend school, community and student events.
5. Assist during program hours as needed. Provide engaging, ongoing opportunities for children to experience success. Develop and maintain a safe, supportive learning environment in which children thrive.
6. Work closely with Program Coordinator in developing programs to support the adults in the student's family.
7. Participate in staff development that contributes to personal and professional growth. Actively participate in all staff support activities and workshops.
8. Develop and share ESLAsC vision and goals with staff and community partners. Provide understanding, communication and education that respects all cultures and beliefs.
9. Assists in positive promotion of ESLAsC throughout the college and community. Assist in leveraging resources and developing partnerships and collaborations. Contribute ideas/materials for quarterly newsletters.
10. Maintains confidentiality of financial data, student files and other sensitive subject matter. Keeps accurate records. Completes and maintains required documentation.
11. Assists with data collection, data analysis and communication activities. Performs duties and responsibilities to meet workload demands.
12. Works assigned schedule, exhibits regular and predictable attendance and works overtime as required meeting workload demands. Performs other related duties as required.

Required Education/Experience: An appropriate combination of education, training, course work and experience may qualify an applicant to demonstrate required knowledge, skills, and abilities. Minimum qualifications for this position are: Bachelor's Degree with 3 to 5 years progressively responsible experience in program development.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
Knowledge of: English word usage, spelling, sentence structure and punctuation; computer software, programs and applications; Somali, Maimai or Spanish language; child development; refugee/immigrant experience; k-12 education systems.

Ability to: work independently demonstrating initiative; coordinate multiple activities and tasks; exhibit flexibility in work schedule and job tasks; originate correspondence; develop and maintain effective working relationships with associates, supervisors, job contacts and general public; maintain confidential and sensitive information; maintain accurate and complete work records; apply analytical thinking; maintain good public relations.

Skill in: verbal and written communications; planning, scheduling and organizing work; collaborating with community and educational agencies.

Training/Certifications Required: State Motor Vehicle Operator's License or demonstrable ability to gain access to worksite.
