The Department of Electrical, Computer and Systems Engineering (ECSE) at Rensselaer Polytechnic
Institute has an exciting tenured faculty opportunity in the Energy Sources and Systems arena.
Energy and the environment, together with biotechnology, computation and information technology, media and the arts, and nanotechnology represent the five strategic research directions of Rensselaer.
ECSE invites applications for a tenure track or senior faculty position in the area of energy sources and systems. We seek innovative faculty members dedicated to providing a high-quality, innovative research and learning experience for our students.
Qualifications
All candidates must possess a Ph.D. or foreign equivalent in a relevant discipline. To be considered at the tenure track level, candidates must be able to exhibit, through their accomplishments, promise of future distinction in scholarship and education. Candidates will be expected to conduct research and teach in one or more of the following areas: energy systems and smart grids, renewable and sustainable energies, and energy conversion.
As we capitalize on our unique, historical strengths in electric power engineering, we are pivoting to confront a rapidly changing landscape in the acquisition, generation, harvesting, control, delivery, and consumption of energy. We shall educate coming generations of electrical, computer, and systems engineers to be intellectually flexible, working from a broad base of fundamentals.
