Assistant Dean of Online Learning

LeTourneau University seeks a dynamic and entrepreneurial leader to continue to develop its strong online programs. The Assistant Dean of Online Learning will be responsible for the academic quality and ongoing innovation of all online courses and programs offered through the School of Graduate and Professional Studies at LeTourneau University. The ideal candidate will have strong record of teaching, an understanding of best practices in online learning, organizational skills, excellent communication skills, and passion for students and Christian higher education. POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
*Recruit and retain effective online faculty to maintain a diverse and qualified pool of faculty members in a variety of disciplines.
*Supervise full-time online faculty from a variety of academic disciplines and a large pool of adjunct faculty
*Schedule faculty for all online classes offered through the School of Graduate and Professional Studies.
*Coordinate all faculty training and development needs for online faculty, including orientation for new faculty, the development and management of faculty mentors, and the development of faculty workshops on various topics.
*Monitor and assess the effectiveness of online faculty, recommend for promotion as appropriate, and provide ongoing faculty coaching as needed.
*Facilitate the development of collaboration and community support among online faculty.
*Assure the academic quality, integrity, and continuous improvement of curricular content and instructional delivery through ongoing review of syllabi and courses, institutional effectiveness measures, and assessment of improve faculty performance.
*Monitor institutional effectiveness efforts for online academic programs.
*Ensure program and institutional compliance with state approval criteria for online programs and SACS accreditation measures for online programs.
*Work closely with Information Technology, the Director of Curriculum, and the Instructional Technologist to ensure appropriate support and delivery systems for all online courses and programs.
*Manage the delivery of all distance learning programs via Blackboard or other course management systems.
*Serve on the School of Professional Studies Leadership Team, the Information Technology Committee, and other committees as assigned
*Manage the online academic program budget effectively.
*Complete other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

*An earned doctorate from a regionally accredited university
*Understanding of best practices and research in online education, including emerging models and tools of delivery, instructional design, and management of instructional programs.
*Demonstrated excellence in teaching in online and in classroom university settings.
*Strong technical aptitude and skills; ability to learn technology quickly and stay abreast of current online education trends and technology. High level experience with Blackboard and/or other learning management systems will be helpful.
*Evidence of successful decision making in a collaborative environment and proven ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, innovative environment
*Ability to develop faculty and enhance their understanding of online program delivery
*Experience with adult education and accelerated learning programs.
*Experience in a nonprofit university setting is helpful.
