As a freelance Sociology subject matter expert, you will write and review online homework materials for undergraduate Sociology courses. Visit aplia.com and try out some of our demos to get an idea of the type of content we write.

This is a freelance, off-site position. However, the ideal candidate would be able to visit our Belmont, CA or Boston, MA office for training.

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in Sociology
  • Current, or recent, experience teaching undergraduate Sociology courses, especially Introductory Sociology
  • Ability to write creative and engaging homework questions, answers, and explanations
  • Broad and current knowledge/experience in Sociology
  • Excellent knowledge of grammar and command of the English language
  • Top-notch written and oral communication skills
  • At least 15-25 hours of availability per week
  • IBM compatible PC, or the ability to run a dual boot Windows/OSX operation environment
Preferred Qualifications:
  • PhD in Sociology
  • 35-40 hours of availability per week
  • Formal editorial / writing experience
