Job Summary/Responsibilities: POSITION OBJECTIVE
The purpose of the Residence Hall Coordinator is to provide year-round
leadership and direction for a specified residence hall. The Residence Hall Coordinator supervises and maintains a comprehensive inclusive
residential living program for students and summer conference guests as well as a developmental program for both professional and
paraprofessional staff. The Residence Hall Coordinator will strive to create a residential environment that is conducive to living and
learning.
DIMENSIONS OF POSITION
The Residence Hall Coordinator provides leadership and direction for the development of a living-learning
community for his/her residence hall. The Residence Hall Coordinator hires, trains, and supervises undergraduate staff in designated
residence halls. The Residence Hall Coordinator is responsible for the daily direction of the residence hall facilities, operations, and
programs. In addition, the Residence Hall Coordinator serves on and/or chairs at least one University Housing Services Professional Staff
committee. The Residence Hall Coordinator also provides professional presentations to para-professional and professional staff based on
current trends and training in higher education and college student personnel.
This is a 12-month, full-time, live-in position with an annually renewable contract for a maximum of five (5) years.
Required Qualifications: Masters degree (or US equivalent)
Two years part-time administrative experience at time of hire
Valid Driver's License
Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree (or U.S. equivalent) in College Student Personnel or related area of study.
Sensitivity to multicultural issues and support of a diverse environment.
Strong problem-solving skills, including a proven ability to respond as an effective team member.
Ability to interact effectively with students, parents, colleagues, and University staff.
Ability to provide both a student-centered and customer service orientation.
Approaches change with a positive attitude and can easily shift from one task to another.
Convey ideas and concepts through oral and written methods and actively listen to reach understanding.
