ROLE of the POSITION
This position is funded by a contract to design and conduct independent experimental research on lithium ion battery (LIB) materials; specifically, to develop Li-rich anti-perovskite as solid electrolyte for LIB applications. The employee is expected to conceive and carry out original research, and to publish regularly in refereed professional journals. The employee will be expected to conduct research in material synthesis, x-ray and neutron diffractions, crystal structure analysis, constitutive property, phase transformation, and reaction kinetics on newly developed solid electrolytes.
This position requires a Doctorate in Physical Science from a regionally accredited college or university and 1-3 years of related professional experience. Other requirements include a thorough understanding of condensed matter sciences (chemistry, physics, materials science, or mineral physics); well-trained in material synthesis and x-ray/neutron diffraction and scattering techniques; good analytical, computational, and experimental skills; good communication and team work skills.
Salary competitive with those at similarly situated institutions. Position is contingent upon funding.
