UNR Information Technology Department is currently hiring Windows Server Administrators and Senior Windows Server Administrators. Windows Server Administrators are responsible for the planning, purchase, deployment, and operation of the university's computer server systems that use Windows based server operating systems supported by Active Directory. These systems currently make up the majority of the server systems operated by Information Technology and provide a wide variety of centralized computing resources to the entire campus community. These services include, but are not limited to, email, file storage, the university's online web presence, telephony, and numerous important application servers (bookstore, OneCard, door security, parking, Blackboard Learn, etc).

A Senior Windows Server Administrator must be flexible and work independently under minimal technical supervision and with considerable latitude for initiative and independent judgment, while Windows Server Administrators must work independently under limited technical supervision with increased latitude for initiative and independent judgment. Routine support shall include the installation of software, updates and security patches, backup administration, support to application support specialists, and monitoring of systems and log files to ensure appropriate server resource availability. After hours support is required to ensure high availability of all Critical Systems services to the campus. Candidates will be hired at the level that is comparable to their experience, knowledge, skills and abilities.

Required Qualifications:
Senior Windows Server Administrators require a Master's Degree or Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution and 4 years of IT experience in an enterprise or university environment.
Windows Server Administrators require a Master's Degree or Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution and 2 years of IT experience in an enterprise or university environment.

Preferred Qualifications:
Degree in computer science, information systems, or related field and/or advanced degree preferred. Experience with SQL Server IIS, Citrix, Virtualization, Exchange, Blackberry, Blackboard Learn, Lync OCS,streaming media, and/or SharePoint.
