Lecturer/Instructor

Department of Chemistry, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign

The Department of Chemistry at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign is looking for Lecturers or Instructors to fill essential teaching positions in our undergraduate program.

Responsibilities

Lecturers and Instructors are responsible for preparing and presenting lectures, writing and grading examinations, meeting with students outside of class time, monitoring teaching assistants, and assigning grades.

Qualifications

This position requires a degree in chemistry or a closely related field: Ph.D. for a Lecturer or M.S. for an Instructor. Applicants with a demonstrated track record of high quality college or university level teaching experience are favored. Experience with curriculum development, current educational technologies, and a strong desire to create new and innovative course materials and experiments will enhance an application.

This position is either a 9 or 12 month full-time academic appointment (non-tenure track). Salary is competitive and based on experience. The actual start date is negotiable, beginning as early as May 16, 2013.
