The City Colleges of Chicago (CCC) District 508, is the largest community college system in Illinois and one of the largest in the nation, with 5,800 faculty and staff serving 120,000 students at seven campuses and thirteen satellite sites city-wide. The City Colleges of Chicago is currently in the midst of a collaborative effort to review and revise CCC programs and practices to ensure students leave CCC college-ready, career-ready and prepared to pursue their life's goals.

CCC includes seven colleges: Richard J. Daley College, Kennedy-King College, Malcolm X College, Olive-Harvey College, Harry S Truman College, Harold Washington College and Wilbur Wright College. The system also oversees: the Washburne Culinary Institute, the French Pastry School, two restaurants, five Child Development Centers, the Center for Distance learning, the Workforce Institute, the public broadcast station WYCC-TV Channel 20 and radio station WKKC-FM 89.3FM.

Duties
Utilizes software to convert architectural designs into technical drawings and plans. The position produces various presentations utilizing architectural and graphic software, as well as other supporting software.

Produces effective product designs by using an understanding of computer-aided design and drafting (CADD) techniques. Produces preliminary architectural plan of upcoming projects for architects and contractors. Provides interior layout as well as furniture selection which involve graphic presentation. Adds structural details to architectural plans using knowledge of building techniques. Illustrates concept by designing rough layout of art and architectural according to the project.

Prepares multiple versions of designs for review by Lead Architect. Prepares documents and gathers information for presentation. Specifies dimensions, materials, and procedures for new building projects. Prepares plans and documents for city approval of permits, licenses and capacity cards; and documents and other information about classrooms within colleges for license purposes. Maintains documents and records of day-to-day operations in the Facilities Planning Department. Maintains list of daily inquiries and requests from architects, engineers and contractors. Prepares finished copies and prints for management presentation.

Performs other duties as assigned.

All CCC employees are required to adhere to CCC Customer Service Excellence standards.

Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Interior Architecture, Design, CADD Operations, or a related field. A minimum of four years of experience as a CADD Operator. Knowledge in computer use with the following software: Excel, PowerPoint, Revit, AutoCAD, Photoshop, Illustrator and other graphic programs.

Ability to analyze, integrate and coordinate information from others to accomplish daily tasks. Must be self-directed and innovative. Must be able to meet deadlines in a timely manner. Good writing and verbal communication skills necessary. Must be able to work well with employees at all levels of the organization, as well as outside consultants. Must be able to handle all situations with tact and diplomacy. Willingness to work irregular hours including nights and/or weekends.
