This position is no longer an active posting on HigherEdJobsJob Description: Wells Fargo Endowed Chair. The College of Education at East Carolina University is seeking applications and nominations for a nine-month faculty position beginning January or August 18, 2014. The Endowed Chair is a full-time faculty appointment, either tenure-track or an initial fixed-term three-year period that is renewable. Rank and salary will be commensurate with qualifications.
Responsibilities will include: teaching one graduate course in educational leadership during each fall and spring semester; attending departmental meetings and carrying out departmental assignments; conducting research and publishing; directing the research of doctoral students; developing, facilitating, and leading the conceptual theme/framework of the research to be presented/disseminated during the annual conference on Innovation in Leadership Practice (ILP); analyzing the literature on leadership and leadership effectiveness from all fields; disseminating this knowledge to university and school faculties; and providing service to the profession, university, and community.
Consideration will be given to candidates with a national reputation in educational leadership, experience and demonstrated leadership in the Carnegie Project on the Education Doctorate (CPED).
Minimum Qualifications: Doctorate in education from an appropriately accredited institution; a distinguished record of scholarship; a record of obtaining funding in support of research/development projects in education; and evidence of serving effectively in leadership roles involving collaboration with university faculty and/or constituents.
