Job Description: The Department of Emergency Medicine of the East Carolina University Brody School of Medicine seeks qualified candidates for a faculty position at the rank of Clinical Assistant Professor or above. Depending on interests and qualifications, this physician will provide clinical care at the Emergency Department, Children's Emergency Department and/or the Minor Emergency Department at Vidant Medical Center. This position may be a fixed-term or tenure track appointment.

The ECU Brody School of Medicine is affiliated with Vidant Medical Center which is the flagship hospital for Vidant Health and serves as the principal teaching hospital for ECU. Vidant Medical Center is an 860-bed, Level I trauma center, with over 110,000 ED visits per year distributed among the main ED, brand new Children's ED, and Minor ED.

The Emergency Medicine Residency Program is long-established and matriculates 12 EM and two EM/IM residents per year. Many of our faculty members are extensively involved in state and national activities.

The successful candidate will possess excellent clinical skills, and be BC/BP in Emergency Medicine. Compensation is competitive and commensurate with qualifications; an excellent fringe benefits program is provided.

Physicians must be able to obtain a license to practice medicine in North Carolina; be granted medical staff privileges at Vidant Medical Center; be approved to practice medicine through ECU Physicians, and receive medical liability insurance coverage through our carrier.

Minimum Qualifications: MD or DO degree from an appropriately accredited institution required.

The successful candidate will have a track record as an exceptional educator, possess excellent clinical skills, and be BC in Emergency Medicine.
