The Department of Psychology at Fayetteville State University invites applications for two tenure-track positions, effective August 2013. The department offers a B.S. degree in Psychology (with options for an online degree completion program and a Biopsychology concentration) and M.A. degree in Psychology with Counseling and Experimental tracks.

Position #1: Assistant/Associate Professor of Psychology (Experimental Psychology): We are seeking a broadly-trained experimental psychologist who can teach one of a variety of courses including Social Psychology, Sensation and Perception, Biopsychology, Theories of Learning, Developmental, History and Systems, Cognitive Psychology, Animal Behavior, Emotions, and Psychopharmacology. The successful candidate should have a Ph.D. in psychology with a strong commitment to undergraduate and graduate teaching and research in a multicultural environment.

Position #2: Open Rank Professor of Psychology (Clinical/Counseling Psychology): We are seeking applications for a full-time clinical/counseling psychologist to teach a variety of undergraduate and graduate courses to a diverse student body. Responsibilities also will include mentoring student research, academic advisement, and university services. Candidates should also have an active research program that will involve students. Candidates must have completed a doctoral degree from an APA-accredited program and a pre-doctoral internship from an APA accredited and/or APPIC approved program. The successful candidate is expected to pursue licensure as a psychologist in North Carolina.

The expected teaching load for all the positions is 12 credit hours per semester. Although a Ph.D. is required for both positions, candidates who are very near degree completion will be considered.
