The Associate Director of Employer Relations, who reports to the Managing Director of the OCS, has the dual role of (1) growing and strengthening corporate and government relations with employers to create employment opportunities for Smith School undergraduate and graduate student populations who desire careers in the finance industry (investment banking, corporate finance, commercial banking, etc.), and (2) serving as an industry advisor and coaching MBA students on industry-specific career and job search strategies.

Minimum Qualifications: Master's degree required. Experience with international business desirable. Familiarity with higher education environment desired. Connectivity within the labor market highly desired.

Knowledge of financial institutions and associated regulatory agencies, and the different functions within these organizations.
Skilled in oral and written communication, including the ability to sell the value proposition of the entire portfolio of Smith School offerings and the ability to interact with all levels within an organization. Outstanding record in providing excellent customer service to all internal and external stakeholders. Ability to effectively differentiate opportunities across student populations (e.g., a FTMBA caliber position, an EMBA caliber position, an undergraduate caliber position).

Proven excellence in utilizing technology to track all employer interactions, touch points and relationships.
Strong networking abilities. Cultivates personal and professional networks to generate business and/or sales and form partnerships and/or alliances Ability to build targeted campaigns to engage employers.
Excellent ability to build and maintain effective relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, including but not limited to students (especially Part-time MBAs), faculty, staff, Smith School leadership, alumni, employer representatives, and community leaders.

Strong knowledge of the student career experience, undergraduate and MBA curriculums, and the employment marketplace (preferred). Knowledge about curriculum and programs offered by Smith and ability to help students draw connections between classroom, club activities, special program/events experiences with employment experiences and opportunities desirable.
Strong written communication, verbal communication, and attentive and active listening skills; demonstrated ability and experience in delivering direct and constructive feedback and coaching others to improve professionally.

Preferred Qualifications: MBA preferred. The ideal candidate will have 7 to 10 years of experience within a corporate setting required, specifically within financial services (including corporate finance, commercial banking, investment banking, sales and trading, venture capital, private equity, real estate), Experience within the government may substitute for corporate experience. The ideal candidate will have 3-5+ years of experience in business development, corporate recruiting and selection, or human resources.
