Laboratory Manager, Pavements/Materials Program
The Laboratory Manager for the Pavements/Materials Program conducts field sampling and laboratory testing of materials, conducts engineering analyses, prepares technical reports, manages the equipment maintenance and calibration program, maintains the national laboratory accreditation program, and trains and coordinates the activities of the graduate students. The Pavements/Materials Program staff conducts funded research activities and testing services for transportation agencies and private industry throughout the U.S. The position reports to the Director of the Pavements/Materials Program within the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering in the College of Engineering at the University of Nevada, Reno (UNR).
Bachelor of Science Degree from an accredited institution with major or emphasis in Civil Engineering or Geological Engineering.
Preference will be given to candidates with experience using the Superpave system for asphalt binders and mixtures.
Preference for experience in sampling and testing road paving materials as well as those candidates who have hands-on experience with electro-hydraulic testing systems.
