ROLE of the POSITION
This is a full-time, 9-month, tenure-track position in communication theory/interpersonal communication, to begin Fall 2013.
The successful applicant will employ qualitative and/or quantitative methods in conducting social scientific research. S/he will teach 2-3 undergraduate and/or graduate classes each semester in interpersonal and/or family communication. Ability to teach some combination of conflict, nonverbal, health, small group, or organizational communication courses highly desirable. Further responsibilities include teaching quantitative research methods, directing research projects for graduate students, advising graduate and undergraduate students, and appropriate service on campus and in the profession.
The qualifications for the position include a Ph.D. in Communication Studies from a regionally accredited college or university. Ph.D. expected by date of appointment. Established publication record and evidence of teaching effectiveness in relevant courses preferred.
Salary competitive with those at similarly situated institutions. Position is contingent upon funding.
