This position is no longer an active posting on HigherEdJobsGoucher College's dynamic and creative Office of Communications has an opening for a full-time Graphic/Web Designer. This position reports to the Director of Design and Production Services and will assist the Senior Graphic Designer with the creation of college publications, marketing materials, electronic media, and related collateral for the entire campus. The Graphic/Web Designer will be responsible for creating and updating designs for print and for the Web, in keeping with the college's established brand identity. The Graphic/Web Designer will also be responsible for creating print pieces such as catalogs, posters, brochures, and invitations, and will assist the webmaster in designing website front-ends, user interfaces, WordPress themes, and electronic media such as e-blasts, and digital signage. The designer meets routinely with on-campus clients such as students, faculty members, and administrators, as well as external vendors.
The ideal candidate will have at least three years of design experience, with a bachelor's degree in graphic design, interactive design, or a related field, and a portfolio of work to present. S/he will be knowledgeable about graphic design software within a Macintosh environment, including Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, and Dreamweaver) and Quark Xpress. The candidate should be proficient with Microsoft Office suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook). Experience with video production or motion graphics software, such as Final Cut Pro, Motion, and/or Adobe After Effects is a plus.
