- Bachelors (Masters preferred) degree in Educational Administration, Teaching or Curriculum Design; Psychology, Youth Administration or Leadership Studies; plus two years of experience related to Instructional Supervision
- Two years of experience counseling low-income, potential first generation college students and their families
- Experience working with students from diverse backgrounds and economic situations
- Knowledge of collegiate academic and financial procedures
- Ability to coordinate and provide individual instruction, course offerings, tutorial sessions and special workshops.
- Ability to conduct individual academic assessments and programming for program participants and create individualized education plans
- Able to interpret educational research data, understand and use various educational computer hardware and software
- Responsible for supervision and coordination of academic activities for Upward Bound Math and Science program;
- Provide direction for part-time instructional staff and management of academic assessment, instruction and evaluation of High School student academic progress;
- Recruitment of students and development of instructional/curriculum design including the use of latest state of the art computerized technology for instruction;
- Provide counseling support to students and parent/guardians
- Development of instructional intervention strategies for students with specific and special academic needs; design of individualized educational intervention strategies; development and implementation of cultural activities; supervision of local, regional and national college tours.
- Design of standardized test taking strategies i.e. SAT, Act High School Assessment (HAS); ability to work with parents, students in groups and individually.
