The University of Illinois Springfield (UIS) seeks outstanding candidates for the position of Associate Vice Chancellor for Graduate
Education & Research. Working under the supervision of the VCAA/Provost, the AVCGER works collaboratively with the senior academic
administrative team to foster and maintain excellence in graduate education and research administration. The AVCGER serves as chief advisor
to the VCAA/Provost, Deans, and Faculty on all issues and initiatives related to graduate education, research administration, intellectual
property, and conflicts of commitment and interest, and maintains current expertise in these areas as relevant to UIS operations. He/she
oversees policies, operations, and functions of the Offices of Graduate Studies; Graduate Assistantships; and Pre-award Grants, Contracts,
and Research Administration; and represents the VCAA/Provost to campus and external constituencies within areas of designated
responsibility. The successful candidate must hold a PhD or equivalent academic degree from an accredited university and have academic credentials and experience sufficient to qualify for appointment as a tenured professor in one of UIS' academic departments.
