The Associate Director of Campus Life serves as co-advisor to Saint Xavier Council (SXC), Saint Xavier's student government/all-campus
programming board, oversees the hiring and leadership development of all Campus Life student leaders, facilitates various annual all-campus
programs and assists with Campus Life operations in a busy, multi-functional department. The candidate will assist with creating programs,
events, and processes that foster the learning, growth and development of all students at Saint Xavier University. Coordinate and staff
annual activities, events, and programs sponsored by Campus Life, including but not limited to Homecoming, Heritage Ball, Senior Week, the
Scarlet & Gray Awards, and Finals Breakfast. Co-advise Saint Xavier Council (SXC), which is comprised of legislative, financial, public
relations and programming committees and act as direct supervisor to the students in paid positions within this group. Oversee and staff all
activities and events sponsored by SXC's Programming branch. Manage the Student Activity Fund process. Coordinate and facilitate various
departmental leadership initiatives, including the Student Affairs Student. Leadership hiring process, the Transitions Peer Mentors program,
bi-annual student leadership conferences, and the Scarlet & Gray Awards. Create and facilitate a student organization leadership development
program. Develop new leadership programming and workshops for all SXU students. Provide support to other Campus Life programming, including
summer orientation. Serve as a hearing officer in the University Student Conduct System, work with individual students as well as groups and
provide resource referrals, mentorship, emergency intervention, and general guidance as appropriate. Interact with students and parents on
multiple levels including trainings, prospective inquiries, and occasional crisis management. Handle administrative duties including written
correspondence, data collection, report writing and budget management. May teach a section of Transitions, Saint Xavier's one-credit
introduction to university life class required for all first-year students. Function as a member of the Dean of Students' staff and serve on
committees and task forces.QUALIFICATIONs: A Master's degree in college student personnel or related field, and 2-4 years experience with event planning, student activities, commuter programming, student leadership development, and judicial affairs in a college or university setting. Strong organizational and interpersonal skills. A commitment to working in a multicultural environment and the ability to work with diverse student populations. Ability to establish good rapport with students, a willingness to work collaboratively with other members of the university community, and the ability to work well independently and within a group. Excellent written and oral communication skills, creativity and resourcefulness, and the ability to multi-task. Ability to take direction and maintain confidentiality. A commitment to the University's mission, identity and core values. Proficient in Microsoft Office including Excel for reports and basic statistical analysis. Background check required.
Full Time M-F 8:30 - 4:30 w/frequent night and weekend hours.
