Job Description:
The athletics academic advisor provides academic guidance for
student-athletes on assigned athletics teams with an emphasis on graduation while maintaining academic eligibility. The athletics academic
advisor works collaboratively with the other athletics academic advisors, the coordinator of student-athlete affairs, the learning
specialist, the compliance office, and the Faculty Athletics Representative, as well as, many on-campus colleagues including department
advisors and admissions and records personnel. This position reports to the Special Assistant to the President for Athletics Academics and
Compliance/FAR.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree and two years or Master's degree and one year of
work experience in student services or intercollegiate athletics.
Preferred
Qualifications:
-Master's degree
-Knowledge of NCAA rules
-Experience advising student-athletes at a Division I institution
-Experience working with a culturally diverse population
-Excellent communication and organizational skills.
